ABOUT

This European Standard stipulates a test method and the Standards for bactericidal activity of chemical disinfectant and antiseptic products that form a homogeneous, physically stable preparation when diluted with water or - in the case of ready-to-use products - with water. Products can only be tested at a concentration of 80 % or less, as some thinning is always produced by adding the test microbes. This document relates to products that are used in food, industrial, household and institutional areas excluding areas and situations where disinfection is medically indicated and excluding products used on living tissues except those for hand hygiene in the above considered areas.

BS EN 1276:2019 is a very similar test to the APD-134 test preformed for the Indian market or the ISO 22196-2007 and EN 1040:2005 testing preformed.

Where other test are looking at the anti-microbial and anti-bacterial functionality over time, this test has been preformed to measure the speed in which the coating is able to rid itself from bacteria.

ISO 22196-2007 is preformed to show the reduction over a longer period of time.
